Facilitated Creative Workshops
Children will consider concepts of home: from the spaces we live into the people we live with and the ways we feel about home. Students will explore homes from various time periods and cultures, then create mixed-media artworks about their own homes.
What stories can patterns tell us about who we are? Children will explore a variety of domestic patterns connecting with the owner or maker’s identity, with a particular focus on migration. Students will then create a collagraph printed pattern telling a story about themselves.
Students will become mini activists, learning how to amplify their artistic voice through the power of collage. Exploring stories of equality in the home, with a focus on women and gender, children will then create a poster sharing a positive message of change they would like to see in the world.
